Volunteering at the Novato Chamber of Commerce
When you volunteer with your local Chamber, you strengthen the organization and make your dollars stretch. Your own business is enhanced by virtue of name recognition and participation in events. But there are other reasons to consider volunteering for the Novato Chamber.1. Create/Build relationships--
Volunteering on a committee will allow you to meet new people and reconnect with those you may already know, against a different backdrop. Some of the strongest business and personal relationships you may carry with you into the future could be with someone you met on a committee.
2. Try something new--
Never planned an Art & Wine Festival? Don't know anything about membership retention? It's ok. Everyone on each committee walked through the door the first time too. You will be warmly welcomed and appreciated for your willingness and generosity.
3. Learn something new--
As with other experiences in life, we learn through others and by doing. These experiences deepen our connection to others, the community and ourselves.
4. Give something back--
When we feel as if something of value has come into our possession, either through the normal course of business or because there were those who simply went the extra mile for us, we want to return the favor. Giving time to a committee or an event is one way to give that something "back".
5. Make a difference--
The Chamber is proud to participate in local community events. Volunteer participation will allow you to make a difference - to help maintain a thriving community of people of all ages, ethnicities and backgrounds. In some cases we never know whose life we have impacted. The knowledge that we have is rewarding in and of itself.
6. Have fun--
Volunteering is one of the best ways to do all of the above, and have a great time in the process!
