Chamber members in good standing are invited to volunteer to serve on Chamber committees. Please contact the Chamber office by emailing to info@novatochamber.com, to inquire about any of the following committees:
AmbassadorsMission: To provide support and promote congeniality throughout the Novato business community. To assist and encourage members to utilize the full benefits of the Novato Chamber of Commerce. Increase retention of all new members through personal contact. Nurture the true spirit and vitality of Novato as a community, where everyone is welcome.
The Ambassador Committee is comprised of 30+ Chamber members who work together to help the Chamber further its Mission and Goals. In addition to being the primary planning committee for the annual Business Showcase, they maintain a Touch Program to help new members integrate themselves into Chamber activities and opportunities, as well as participate in quarterly community involvement projects. Meets at 5:30 PM the second Thursday of each month at Redwood Credit Union, 1010 Grant Avenue.
Business Education (BEC)
Mission: To develop and deliver Workplace Excellence workshops that provide ongoing organizational education and training. Also, to create Business-to-Business (B2B) breakfast events featuring engaging speakers, and timely topics of interest for Chamber members and the Novato Community.
The BEC hosts quarterly events such as B2B breakfast events, meet and greet networking events, timely candidate forums and the State of the City event. Meets at 4:00 PM the fourth Thursday of each month in the Chamber Conference Room.
Government Affairs
Mission: To be an advocate and represent the interest of Chamber members to local government. To raise the awareness of governmental action that affects members of the Chamber.
The Government Affairs Committee monitors local and regional elections and becomes involved when appropriate with making Chamber endorsements, working with City Council and with other local chambers on issues of mutual importance. Meets at noon the first Tuesday of each month in the Chamber Conference Room.
Leadership Novato Alumni Association (LNAA)
Mission: To provide support and direction to the Novato Leadership Program, and enrich the program through the diverse perspectives and expertise of committee members from public, private and nonprofit sectors of the community.
The LNAA is the formal Alumni Association for the Leadership Novato Program and hosts its annual reunions as well as welcomes each year's incoming class. They publicize Leadership Novato events and projects in an effort to bring a higher level of recognition to the accomplishments of those involved in each group project. Meets at 9:00 AM the first Friday of each month in the Chamber Conference Room.
Marketing and Communications
Mission: Create and manage a communications program that will keep all members informed and motivated to participate in Chamber activities and assist members in promoting their business(es) through the Chamber.
This committee is responsible for putting forward the Chamber's marketing plan, conducting surveys and doing trend research to further the overall goals in supporting the promotion of membership businesses. Meets on an as-needed basis.
Membership
Mission: To develop and retain membership through recruitment and communications with members, and bring added value to current and future members.
The Membership Committee works with Chamber Staff and the Board of Directors to promote new membership in the Chamber, as well as develop programs that add value to existing member benefits. Meets at noon the first Monday of each month in the Chamber Conference Room.
Tourism
Mission: The Tourism Committee is comprised of Chamber staff and volunteers, working together to promote visitor spending at Novato's hotels, restaurants and other visitor-serving businesses.
The Tourism Committee works with organizations such as the Marin County Visitors' Bureau in order to leverage Novato's budget dollars with Marin's name recognition in several local publications. They are responsible for the distribution of Novato Tourism brochures in nearly 1500 sites throughout California. This committee maintains the content and design for the Novato Tourism web site. Meets at 4:00 PM the first Monday of each month in the Chamber Conference Room.
Women in Business (WIB)
Mission: Create an environment where women inspire women to achieve success in business through education, networking and building strong relationships.
The WIB committee provides strong leadership, unity and participation through chamber and community events. In addition to hosting regular luncheons featuring networking activities and speakers, they participate in the planning and execution of the Regional Women in Business Conference, support non-profit organizations and honor a distinguished local business woman each year. Meets at 9:00 AM the third Thursday of each month in the Chamber Conference Room.
