  • Museum of the American Indian

The Museum of the American Indian is located in the heart of Miwok Park, which also offers over 35 acres of trees, creekside picnicking, hiking, trails and amazing BBQ areas. Respecting the native people who lived in the region for thousands of years, there is a Coast Miwok Room dedicated to their ancestors and their descendants. The Museum also has over 2000 pieces within its collection honoring the local Miwok people as well as the rich cultural diversity of First Peoples from all over North America.

The museum is a cultural and educational center and also maintains reproduced products and hands-on lessons for children. Along with its general collection, the museum showcases two annual events paying tribute to neighboring Pomo culture with a pottery and arts display.
