Redwood Credit Union Offers Interest-Free Loans for
    Marin Teachers and School Employees
RCU’s loan program created to help educators with school-related expenses
San Rafael, Calif. – Redwood Credit Union (RCU) now offers zero-interest loans of up to $500 to Marin County public school employees for work-related expenses.
The loans can be used for:
    • Classroom supplies and books
    • Computer equipment and software
    • Professional development courses
    • SMART train passes
    • Other work-related expenses
“We want to support Marin Schools employees with easy and free access to funds that can help set them—and their students—up for a great school year,” said Brett Martinez, president and CEO of Redwood Credit Union. “We know many public school teachers and staff pay out-of-pocket for materials to enhance student learning; so we developed this loan program to help ease that burden.”
Marin school teachers and employees can learn more, including how to apply, by visiting www.redwoodcu.org/4marinschools or calling 1 (800) 479-7928.
Redwood Credit Union also gives back to Marin County schools through SchoolsRule Marin, a coalition that funds arts, health, technology, and literacy programs for public school students in Marin County. Every time a Marin resident uses their RCU Rewards Visa credit or debit card, Redwood Credit Union makes a donation to SchoolsRule. Since the program’s inception in 2014, RCU has donated $120,000 to support education programs in Marin and is projected to contribute an additional $50,000 by year-end.
